Relate The Relationship People - role evaluations and salary benchmarking
As a high profile organisation and leading source of counselling for couples and families in the city of Brighton & Hove, Relate recognised the need to review its strategy both in terms of service delivery and planning and as an employer.
Sparkhouse partnered Relate in benchmarking a number of roles against the external marketplace. The work included the creation of job descriptions which enabled the jobs to be evaluated and market data obtained to allow these roles to be positioned against similar roles in the Public, Private and Voluntary sectors. This exercise has allowed Relate to compare its remuneration package against similar sized organisations and develop pay and reward strategies allowing a clear career progression based on performance.
This work involved reviewing and updating job descriptions, evaluating and benchmarking roles against comparable jobs in the Voluntary, Public and Private Sectors and then using the evaluations and relevant market salary survey data developed a full and detailed Job Benchmarking and Remuneration report. The report gave an overview of typical remuneration packages in the marketplace for similar sized organisations and comparable roles.
